Guides & Fixes

Start with the symptom you can observe. These guides connect a useful device test with the next setting to check, so you can work through the problem one change at a time.

Find your next step

Getting ready for a meeting? Check your camera, microphone and speakers together. If a browser test works but your meeting app does not, use the guide for that app below.

Keyboard, mouse and controller problems

Microphone problems in meeting apps

Choose the app where people cannot hear you. Each guide explains which controls belong to the app, browser and operating system.

Microphone and camera checks

  • Microphone Not Working

Start here if the browser cannot receive usable microphone audio, regardless of which meeting app you use.

  • Webcam Not Working

Work through camera access, input selection and a missing or black preview.

If the browser reports blocked access, the Browser Permission Test helps you inspect the access information it exposes. The result for this site does not establish permission for another website or desktop app.

Use your result to choose the next step

  • The test cannot start: read the error, check the connection and review the relevant access settings.
  • The test receives audio or video: compare the selected input with your meeting app. Test again inside that app.
  • Input is present but quality is poor: describe what you hear or see. A local test cannot establish the cause of a problem across a live call.

After a meaningful change, repeat the same check with the same device. Keep the useful observations, such as the selected input and error text, if you need help from your IT team or device manufacturer.

Looking for a different device test?

The Device Testing Hub groups keyboard, mouse, display, controller, phone and other checks. Use the tool that matches the symptom before deciding what needs fixing.
